The stain and finish of the gray table shown in the pictures is an oil based stain combined with a water-based polyurethane finish, but I can also do other finish/color combinations as well. Currently, my preferred method for adding color is using a wood dye made by trans tint, which comes in many different colors, and which accentuates the grain and doesn't mute it like a more conventional stain will. Any color dye can be combined with a French polish shellac finish (probably my favorite), or a tung oil finish, hardwax oil finish or polyurethane finish.
Table in picture is identical in design (dimensions may be different, of course), but is not the exact one you will receive. Due to natural materials being used, each table will have it's own unique character.
*Table in picture has a 48 inch diameter piece of glass. If you would like a smaller diameter table, the shape of the table will change slightly due to the diameter being different but the height being the same.
*Table in pictures is built out of reclaimed cedar, but I now build them out of white oak.
* Glass will arrive separately from table base upon delivery.

Hand-crafted in Colorado Springs, CO, USA
All GeoDesignz products are handcrafted by GeoDesignz owner Todd Gossage. Todd also designs all of the products himself, and uses a highly specialized design method, which involves using computers and mathematics to calculate all of the angles, lengths and cuts needed to build each project. When sitting down to design a project, Todd will work for many hours on his computer utilizing calculus equations to get the design just right. After he succeeds in doing this, he writes down all of the information needed to build that particular table on a piece of paper, and then heads out to the work shop to start looking through his lumber supply for the correct pieces to build with.

Lumber
The lumber Todd generally works with is in the form of large wooden oak beams, acquired from a steel mill 40 miles away in Pueblo, Colorado. This wood, prior to Todd getting it, is used by the steel mill to support massive wind turbines and other related equipment during hauling, and is very rough looking in its raw form. However, the moment the top layer is stripped away, the beauty of the hardwood is revealed, and after further steps of cutting, planing and sanding, a finish, such as a French polish shellac finish, can be applied, and the natural beauty of the wood is then accentuated to a spectacular level.

Engineering
What sets Todd and GeoDesignz apart from most engineering operations is that Todd handles every aspect of production, both in regard to design and build, from beginning to end. The piece of paper that is used to build each table is a representation of this, as it is also along the ride during each process of the build, and is usually pretty tattered and worn, and has a treasure map sort of look about it by the end of a project. If you would like to request the piece of paper that contains all of the information needed build your table (albeit Todd is the only one who understands this "treasure map" of sorts) Todd will be more than happy to include it in the mail alongside the item you purchased. In owning a table from GeoDesignz, you are getting a truly unique, one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted piece of furniture, that has an extremely high amount of love, care and engineering put into it.
